The Toms River Nursery School Toddler Program is designed for children who are two by April 1, 2024. The program fosters social, emotional, intellectual and physical development through play and exploration. Children are exposed to floors, numbers, letters, shapes, as well as fine and gross motor skills in a very relaxed manner. Children will be encouraged to interact with peers as well as work on open-ended projects that focus on abstract thinking, vocabulary development and empathy toward others.

The nursery program is designed for children who will be age three on or before October 1st. The nursery program is designed to foster social, emotional, physical and intellectual development though play. Children are exposed to colors, shapes, numbers and various readiness activates as well as the development of fine and gross motor skills in a very relaxed manner. This program is offered in two, three or five half days, or in three or five full days.

Please note that the Toms River Nursery School Part Time Nursery/Pre-K Program is designed to deliver curriculum to children based on their age.  Four-Year-Olds will receive the Toms River Nursery School Pre-K Curriculum and three-year-olds will receive the Toms River Nursery School Nursery Curriculum.  Teachers will differentiate for children based on age and developmentally appropriate practices.

The Toms River Nursery School pre-kindergarten program is designed for children who will be four on or before October 1st. The program is designed to help prepare children for their kindergarten year. Readiness skills are addressed, but as in our nursery program, learning is initiated through play. The children are exposed to many learning activities throughout the day including work with colors, shapes, numbers, alphabet and name recognition. Children work at their own pace, enjoying many developmentally appropriate activities. The pre-kindergarten program uses the Everyday Math and Handwriting Without Tears series as part of the curriculum. This program is offered five mornings or afternoons, three afternoons, or five full days.

In addition to our academic programs, Toms River Nursery School also offers before and after school childcare. Our building is open from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm; childcare services cost $8.50 per hour.
